Poster Series

This project was created for LTLE 580 Developing and Critiquing Visual Literacy.  The purpose of this assignment was to practice our visual communication skills.  We were tasked with creating an instructional poster that could clearly communicate visually and verbally the information that we were illustrating.

These posters were created in Adobe Photoshop because it allowed me to create many layers, use rulers to align material, and worked well with the Wacom tablet.

I chose my intended audience as a middle or high school classroom who uses project based learning.  This poster was inspired by the project I created for LTLE 611 User Interface Design, the Project Tool Selector website.  This poster is designed to help students choose the type of project they would like to complete (giving students a voice and a choice!)  I created each graphic using a Wacom tablet and went for a more hand drawn feel/style.  Choosing a simple graphic style should help to reduce the cognitive load on the user.

After peer review, I ended up creating two additional posters.  The one below, "Subjects, Modes & Projects," shows only the top layers and cleans up the original poster by getting rid of the specific project requirements.  By taking those requirements off, I felt that poster 3 (which would need to be created for all subjects) helped by reducing the amount of information on the page.
