Visual Resume

The visual resume project was designed for the LTLE 580 Developing and Critiquing Visual Literacy class.  Visual resumes allow for job applicants to use images primarily to convey information about their educational background, work history, skill sets, and achievements.

This project was created using Adobe Photoshop.  I was thrilled to create this resume as it was the most extensive project I've created in Photoshop.  I utilized many Lynda.com tutorials to learn how to build shapes, use the pen tool to create graphics, and other program basics.  I chose Adobe Photoshop because it allowed me to work with many complex layers and use tools to help keep my design aligned.  I went with a more infographic style with flat art as the overall feel for my visual resume and enjoyed creating the shapes and graphics.

I started off the design process by sketching out my original idea on paper to get a feel of layout and placement.  Then I began building in Photoshop.  During the design process, I paid close attention to the layout, types of images I was creating, fonts, and colors and referred to the design principles of contrast, repetition, alignment, and proximity (CRAP).

Graduate Program Objectives:

1. Apply foundational knowledge and skills to the collaborative design and use of content, pedagogy and instructional technologies.

7. Engage in and reflect upon one's own professional development, dispositions and growth in the discipline.

AECT Standard 1 (Content Knowledge): Candidates demonstrate the knowledge necessary to create, use, assess, and manage theoretical and practical applications of educational technologies and processes.
